An inevitable part of baking or cooking is fucking up.I haven’t quite decided how to post here when that happens. It was *almost* today.
Sometimes nothing goes your way while cooking and sometimes you can tell from get go that something is off. This was one of those times. First a cookbook complaint. I find it very hard to cook a recipe when the ingredient list and the directions are on different pages that you have to flip to. I always forget an ingredient or get off on what step I am on because of the flipping back and forth.
Tomorrow is my dad’s birthday and since I had most of the afternoon free, I decided to make him a Bundt cake. This was my first time making one. I made the almost-famous cranberry Bundt cake from Everyday is Saturday.
First, this Silicon Bundt cake worked great. The cake popped right out - no sticking. Probably the easiest part.
But I did make some small errors while pulling this together and it also took a fair amount longer than expected to cook. Maybe a down side of the silicon? Also didn’t seem to cook evenly.
I can’t comment on the taste yet because it’s for tomorrow. So I’ll have to add that info to tomorrow. I am also exhausted and can hardly keep my eyes open - so this is short and sweet.
Taste update tomorrow - I promise.
They aren't always winners. Happiest birthday to your dad!
